21 November 2013 7:54 am 3 Civilian killed in bombing at restaurant in Kandahar KABUL: (MEP) – A powerful explosion has killed three people at a restaurant in Kandahar in Afghanistan. Kandahar’s Regional Health Department Director said the city’s main hospital received more than 20 wounded victims and three dead bodies. He said all the victims are civilian including a six-year-old boy. A spokesman for the provincial governor said an investigation is continuing and it isn’t immediately clear whether it was a suicide bomber or whether a timed device was used. No one has taken immediate responsibility for the explosion but the Taliban are suspected of carrying out the attack, CN TV reported. Southern Afghanistan has been the site of some of the heaviest fighting in the protracted war against the Taliban insurgency.
